The Department of Education American Rescue Plan (ARP) funds are available to educational institutions in all 50 states to help schools reopen. There are funds specified for both K-12 schools and institutions of higher education in this plan.

Avigilon, a Motorola Solutions company, offers a variety of solutions that can be deployed to help education agencies in their coronavirus response, prevention, and mitigation efforts - technologies and systems to assist in safely reopening schools. You may be able to use your Education Stabilization Fund grant on these solutions, but you should consult your State Educational Agencies (SEA) and/or legal department if you have questions.

K-12 Education (ESSER funds) allowable uses:

Coordination of preparedness and response efforts of local educational agencies with state, local, tribal, and territorial public health departments, and other relevant agencies, to improve coordinated responses among such entities to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus.

• Appearance search contact tracing (base ACC System with analytics)
• COVID-19 response analytics:  Occupancy counting, no face mask detection, and social distancing (base ACC system with analytics)
• Elevated temperature detection camera (specialized camera + base ACC system)
• ACS web and mobile client for collaboration with local authorities (base ACC system)
• Mapping for first responders/911 dispatch (base ACC and/or ACM systems)

School facility repairs and improvements to enable operation of schools to reduce risk of virus transmission and exposure to environmental health hazards, and to support student health needs.

• ACM contact tracing (base ACM system)
• Appearance search contact tracing (base ACC system with analytics)
• COVID-19 response analytics:  Occupancy counting, no face mask detection, and social distancing (base ACC system with analytics)
• ACS COVID-19 analytic dashboard and reporting (base ACC system with analytics)

Providing principals and other school leaders with the resources necessary to address the needs of their individual schools. 

• ACM contact tracing (base ACM system)
• Appearance search contact tracing (base ACC System with analytics)
• COVID-19 response analytics:  Occupancy counting, no face mask detection, and social distancing (base ACC system with analytics)
• Elevated temperature detection camera (specialized camera + base ACC system)
